The Notch in My Bedpost

We shiver from room to room,
I bear chest and breast.
(This is me; this is my best.)
I put u before me: I am consumed;
I put I before u: one last painful situation
And everything becomes impossible.
I want to tie you down and lie to you,
Suffer once or twice, then leave;
Our mistakes were always so much more fun.
Now there is nothing left to do
But breathe on the window
And draw hearts in the fog.
